Week 10- Catch up!

Yipppieee for catch up! Thank you for the OCLS 2.1 experience! I learned so much new information about technology and the web! Great job team! :)

Week 9- The Darkside of the Web

Oh the darkside, yes...I have been a victim of viruses, phishing and Trojans. It is very difficult to avoid at times. Most of the time, when I recieve emails from someone I do not know, I simply delete it...I do not even take the time to open the email.

The tips given in the Phishing presentation were good. It is simple tips that can save you tons of time and money! Thanks for a very informative end to OCLS 2.1! :)

Week 8 - Life Long Learning

This week's course was the best so far. My favorite websites include positivity blog, 5 minute lifeotopia, and Berklee music. The positivity blog is awesome to keep you on task. Sometimes things get difficult but this blog keeps you focused on the important things in life.

As I have said in the past, I am a visual learner, I really enjoy learning from videos. Berklee music allows you to observe the instructor and view him playing as well. It's like having your own private lessons for FREE! Sweet deal. The 5 minute lifeotopia allows to view personal trainers and all... wow, I didn't know I could find all this cool websites but I am sure glad I did!

Week 7 - Web 2.0 continues

I really enjoyed this week's lesson. I found some really cool sites...farecast and kayak, I'll be planning my getaway vacation soon. And the cocktail builder website is pretty nifty. Threadless and stylehive are stylish and hip as well. It's really cool the websites that are out there. Sometimes we get into a routine when we go on the internet that we forget to look outside the box. :)

Week 6 - Catch up!

Yay for catch up! :)

Week 5 - Chain, Chain, Change...

The video of how life is like as a student was hilarious...the majority of it being 100% true, at least in my perspective.

Radiohead posting their album to their website is so ingenious. I wish more artists would do that. I think it would be beneficial for the artists, consumers, and even the environment. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Go Green!

As for our new mission statement, I think the key point for most patrons is the "continuous innovation" in all aspects, including our up to date collection, well informed staff members, accommodable facilities, and innovative services such as Books By Mail :).

Week 4 - Open Source

Open Source software is pretty cool. The collaborative nature of open source seems to pave the way for the future of technology. One can customize and adjust things to better suit their needs. It's nice to see other Open Source challenging Microsoft. The dominating nature of Microsoft can be annoying, at times.

Answerbag...whoa...that's all I have to say. All sorts of questions...

I googled myself and I found some hits...most of them were things associated with work, school, or the place where I volunteer. It was interesting to see some of my friends as "affiliated" with me. Interestingggg...
